Conference discuss Parliamentary functioning, procedures

Thiruvananthapuram, May 24 (UNI) Various topics relating to Parliamentary functioning and procedures were discussed at the conference of Secretaries of Legislative bodies held here today.

Lok Sabha Secretary-General P D T Achari, who inaugurated the conference, briefed the Secretaries about the noteworthy achievements that took place after the previous conference held in Raipur in 2005.

Rajya Sabha Secretary-General Yogendra Narain, Kerala Legislature Secretary N K Jayakumar and Secretaries of various other state Legislatures attended the conference.

Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee would inaugurate a two-day conference of presiding officers tomorrow.
