Brisk polling at Khaga assembly seat

Fatehpur, May 24 (UNI) About fourty three per cent polling has been reported till 1300 hrs at Khaga assembly seat of the district where polling was cancelled following the death of a Congress candidate Munna Lal Maurya.

The polling had been peaceful so far and barring minor complaints with regard to names in the voter list, the process was going on smoothly, District Magistrate Mohd Mustafa said.

A total of 2,78,539 electorate will decide the fate of 13 candidates in the fray. The polling which started at 0700 hrs would continue till 1700 hrs.

The Khaga seat was to go to the polls in the fifth phase of the UP assembly polls on April 28.
