BJP will get clear majority in Goa: Jawadekar
Panaji, May 24: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Prakash Jawadekar, while ruling out a hung assembly in Goa, has said the party will win a clear majority in the June 2 elections.
Speaking to reporters here today, Mr Jawadekar said the BJP will form the government on its own in the state. He said the election, this time, was being contested on one central issue Save Goa and permanently bury State Regional Plan 2011.
Criticising the Regional Plan 2011, Mr Jawadekar said it was aimed at selling Goa to the foreigners. Though the plan has been temporarily shelved, the Congress would revive it if it comes to power, Mr Jawadekar said.
Criticising the UPA Government at the Centre, he said soaring prices of essential commodities has affected every section of the society. He demanded that petrol and diesel prices be reduced by Rs 5 each with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, BJP national general secretary Gopinath Munde arrived in Goa to spearhead the BJP campaign. He will be in Goa till May 28.
Mr Munde is slated to address his first public meeting later today in the Poriem constituency from where Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane is contesting.
