Azad calls on wounded DSP at GMC

Jammu, May 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today called on wounded Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) who was shot at by a militant and wished him speedy recovery.

Mr Azad directed the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu to provide all assistance to DSP Jugal Manhas recover from serious injuries, sources said.

Mr Manhas, who is posted as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SPDO) at Mendhar in Poonch district, was shot at near his office last morning.

Dr Gurjit Singh, who had performed emergency operation on the wounded officer, told UNI that his condition was stable and still under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

However, the hospital authorities were planning to shift the police officer to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
