AMC commissioner gets bail

Akola, May 24 (UNI) Akola Municipal Corporation (AMC) commissioner Chandrashekhar Rokde and tax superintendent Nandakishore Ujwane surrendered before the local magistrate yesterday and were released on bail in connection with the assault on former BJP corporator Deepak Khotre.

The injured ex-corporator and his brother have also been booked, following cross complaints, and they too were released on bail yesterday.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has promised to look into the complaints against Rokde when BJP leaders Pandurang Phundkar and Gowardhan Sharma met him yesterday.
