Agri-Business Meet in MP

Bhopal, May 24 (UNI) About 150 representatives of Indian business houses have confirmed participation in the two-day Agri-Business Meet 2007 that gets underway tomorrow at the Assembly premises here with the objective of attracting investment to Madhya Pradesh's agriculture and allied sectors, official sources said.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would be among those present at the first event of its kind in the state. Participants would include Aditya Birla Group, ITC, Adani, Mittal, Bikano, Prakash Lohia, Reliance Fresh, Hindustan Agro, L&T Overseas, Dawat Basmati and Dollex Industries.

As many as 850 peasants and businessmen associated with this state's farming industry have been invited.

''Representatives will have the opportunity to interact with the government during the event,'' said Madhya Pradesh Agricultural Marketing Board Managing Director M A Khan.
