6 killed in Junagadh road mishap

Junagadh, May 24 (UNI) Six persons were killed and six others injured in a head-on collision today between a Tempo Trax and a truck at Vadal village in Junagadh taluka, 14 kms from here.

The jeep was carrying newspaper parcels of a local daily 'Jai Hind'. Twelve persons were also in the jeep on way to Somnath from Rajkot on a pilgrimage. The truck was proceeding to Anand, carrying mangoes. The accident took place at 0400 hrs.

The deceased are jeep driver Asif alias Phuro Sidiqui Jethwa,30; of Junagadh; Anil H Solanki, Jamnagar; Chandrikaben N Solanki, Jamnagar; Dhirubhai H Solanki, Jamnagar; Jivanbhai Kodi, Jamnagar and Anandbhai Rambhai, 35.

The six seriously injured, including the truck driver, have been admitted to Junagadh hospital.
