Warrant of arrest against Raj Thackeray
Jamshedpur, May 23 (UNI) A local court today issued a warrant of arrest against Maharashtra Nava Nirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray for his reported anti-Bihari statements and ordered him to appear before the court by June 22.
First class judicial magistrate of Jamshedpur court D C Awasthi issued the order as the accused failed to appear before the court following a summon, issued by the same court on April 19.
Advocate of Jamshedpur court Sudhir Kumar Pappu filed the case on March 13 against the high profile leader, who is also the nephew of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, under IPC 153 (A),153 (B) and 504 for delivering derogartory speeches against the Biharis at a rally in Mumbai on March 9. Mr Thackray allegedly asked his party workers to 'drive out'people of Bihar from Maharashtra.
Mr Pappu filed the case on the basis of newspaper reports published in several national dailies.
Talking to UNI, Mr Pappu said if Mr Thackeray failed to appear before the court a non-bailable warrant would be issued against him.
