Wall collapse leaves more than 27 dead in TN bar

Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, May 23 (UNI) A wall collapse left as many as 27 people dead and scores injured at Anarpalayam Pudur near here tonight.

Police said the victims were enjoying drinks at a TASMAC bar when the adjoining wall of a hosiery unit collapsed and fell, crushing the victims to death They said heavy rainfall could have resulted in the wall collapse leading to the mishap.

The bodies had been sent to the government hospital here. Top police and government officials have rushed to the spot.
