MP: Vehicles worth over Rs 2 crore recovered
Bhopal, May 23: Madhya Pradesh Police have recovered stolen two-wheelers and four-wheelers, worth over Rs 2.06 crore, and arrested 250 people in this connection during an intensive checking campaign carried out in the state between January 15 to March 31 this year.
According to a press note issued by the state police headquarters, Director General of Police A R Pawar had directed to launch the campiagn in view of increasing incidents of vehicle lifting.
Under the campaign, vehicle permits, registration, insurance and number plates were checked. As many as 21,924 vehciles were found whose owners did not possess complete documents.
After interrogating suspected people, vehicle lifters gangs were traced.
