Bihar: Two electrocuted in Dalit Basti
Sheohar, May 23: Two people, including a woman, were electrocuted at Dalit Basti early this morning when a live electric wire fell on a hut.
District Police Superintendent Ajay Kumar Mishra said that the couple, fast asleep in their hut, came in contact with live wire, which accidentally got detached from the pole due to poor maintenance of the power distribution system.
The victims were identified as Yogendra Mallick and Sushila Devi both from Sheohar town, he added.
An irate mob forced the closure of Sheohar market in protest against the accident and jammed thoroughfares in different points to block movement of traffic.
District civil and police officials rushed to the spot to pacify the angry people with a view to restoring normalcy.
