Police registers dowry harassment case

Puducherry, May 23 (UNI) Police today registered a case against three persons on the charge of dowry harassment here.

According to police, Sudar Oli (25) lodged a complaint with the all women police station at Villianur that her husband Nedumaran and his parents Kaliyaperumal and Maaduri had harassed her, demanding more dowry.

At the time of her marriage two years back, her parents had given her Rs one lakh in cash and 100 sovereigns of jewellery as dowry.

However, her in-laws were now demanding Rs five lakh more, she claimed.
