Pinnacle launches video editing software enabling home editing

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Pinnacle systems today launched its next generation of video editing software, enabling users to carry out hassle-free editing from the comfort of their homes.

''More and more consumers are taking up video and digital photography. Our objective is to make this possible and easier for users. With this software, we are providing consumers a wide range of formats like Advanced Video Codec High-Definition (AVCHD) editing, Hd DVD disc burning and one-click publishing to the web,'' country Manager of Pinnacle India Ashish Bakshi said.

''The new software has the ability to create user-generic content and share it with the world and the web,'' he added.

This software, priced at Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000, is designed to simplify video editing for entry level users. Pinnacle Studio contains several automated and time-saving features that let customers archive their video memories or create entertaining moves in a few easy steps.

The new one-click web publishing feature enables users to quickly publish their videos to Yahoo videos for public viewing or they can upload to the pinnacle systems' StudioOnline.com website private viewing service and invite an audience to watch their videos at the same time.

The new software adds a host of advanced editing, effects snd authoring options. The extensive range of features includes a complete HD workflow, with native HDV and AVCHD editing and HD DVD disc burning.

Users can burn discs on a standard DVD burner using stardard DVD discs, and depending on the format, can play them on the latest Hd DVD players.

The software also provides zooming and panning of the stills.

Through its new version of video editing software, Pinnacle Studio 11, the company is also targeting school education.

As a result, it is in talks with several schools in the metros, including Modern School, to include Video editing as part of the school curriculum.

''To begin with, we are are focussing on six to seven cities to impart education programmes in video editing but within a year we plan to expand to 25 cities. By this June, such programmes will be instituted in the schools,'' Mr Bakshi said.

''After our encouraging response in the countries like the US and Europe we decided to institute such school education programmes in India also.'' However, Mr Bakshi declined to elaborate on the exact figures of investment Pinnacle envisaged.
