MP's airstrips being privatised
Bhopal, May 23 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh's airstrips are being privatised with a view to promote tourism and encourage investment even as preparations are underway to make this centrally-located state an education hub.
''Such privatisation will also attract foreign investment. An initiative has already been made taken in Panna district where a private company is using and expanding an airstrip besides conveying tourists to Kanha National Park and other key tourist spots in the vicinity,'' Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told reporters at his residence last evening after a ten-day UK-US visit.
Pointing out that airports here and at Indore were being upgraded to international status, he added that the education hub would cater to the rich resource of youthful population.
''IT-supported education will be implemented. Preparations are underway for a two-day Global Investors Meet scheduled here in October end,'' Mr Chouhan explained.
