Kolkata, May 23: A search for fashionable and trendy outfits ended here after fashion designers Kiram Uttam Ghosh and Monapali unveiled their cotton outfits in the city.

The internationally acclaimed designers were in the city yesterday to showcase their designed cotton outfits in a fashion show organised by US based Cotton Council International as a part of its 'Stay cool with cotton' campaign.

The campaign was to generate basic awareness about the benefits of the cotton during summer and to re-emphasise it as a fashionable and natural fabric, CCI India representative Ashish Dhir said.

''The purpose of campaign is to reacquaint people with the use of this fabric. Whether it is for formal office wear, evening party wear or for home decor, cotton scores both on style and comfort,'' designer Kiran Uttam Ghosh said.

Asked upon why she prefers cotton for her designer label, Mona of the Monapali brand said, '' Cotton is a natural fibre, breatheable, and its now available in varieties of fine textures and colours.'' She also added that the fabric is ideal for the warm Indian weather.

Famous models Tupur and Tapur Chatterjee walked the ramp with cotton outfits designed by Monapali and Kiran Uttan Ghosh.
