Increased pension amount not being paid

Bhopal, May 23 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Assembly Opposition Leader Jamuna Devi today alleged that poor and destitute are not being paid social security pension at increased rate.

In a statement issued here today, Ms Devi said the Centre had increased the National Old Age Pension and Social Security Pension amount to Rs 275.

The state government had announced to disburse the increased amount of Rs 275 from April 1 but this had not been implemented and Rs 150 was still being disbursed as pension amount.

The Opposition leader said the Centre had made its contribution available to the government for increased amount of pension and it was surprising that the increased pension amount was not being paid.

She demanded that the state government must issue a white paper to clarify its stand.
