Heritage trains to start in MP
Bhopal, May 23 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) is mooting a proposal to start 'Palace on Wheels' on the lines of Rajasthan and Heritage trains in the state with a view to promoting tourism.
MPSTDC Chairman Dhurvnarayan Singh told reporters here today that the proposal was being studied.
Besides, there was a proposal to set up an artificial beach near 'Badi Jheel (lake)' in the state capital.
He said water sports would be developed near Kaliasot dam, 'Badi Jheel' and other famous water bodies in the state capital.
A 'Rope Way' would be constructed over 'Badi Jheel' under the BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) scheme so that people could enjoy the pleasant environment around the lake.
In view of convenience of pilgrims and foreign tourists, a proposal was under consideration to start a bus to ply between Khajuraho to Varanasi and Bhopal to Jaipur.
He added that Buddhist structures near Satna would be developed and connected to 'tourism circuit'.
