Surat, May 23 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Korea has paved the way for collaboration between Gujarat and that nation, delegation members who had accompanied Mr Modi today said.

The members told a press conference here today that the visit was extremely successful.

Mr Modi and the delegation members held several high-level meetings in Korea in which various matters ranging from cooperation in agriculture, water management, and development of green field ports and ship building were discussed, Essar Group resident director Jayesh Buch, a member of the delegation, said.

The delegation had the opportunity to see the Saemangeum project, the largest water management project in the world, and Busan, the second largest city in Korea, ABG Shipping director Rish Aggarwal said.

The Saemangeum Project is the largest water management project in the world. It is a 33-km-long dyke constructed across the sea, Mr Aggarwal informed.

Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals chairman P K Taneja said the visit was educative and a great experience.

''Korea is looking up to India as a very important investment destination, but did not know much about the potential of Gujarat. So they preffered destinations like Chennai. Our main objective was to market the advantages of the state as a potential investment destination,'' Mr Taneja added.
