Explosives recovered from Faizabad railway station
Faizabad, May 23 (UNI) Police recovered a huge quantity of explosives from the Faizabad railway station early today, hours after serial blasts rocked Gorakhpur.
Ten kg of explosives and 20 litres of ammonium nitrate were recovered by the Railway police from the second class waiting room on platform No 1 at around 0155 hrs, Police Superintendent (City) K K Asthana informed.
The bomb disposal squad later rushed to the site.
Meanwhile, security teams have been sent from the state capital to Faizabad to ascertain the nature of the explosives and probe the case.
The police was investigating if there was a link between the explosives haul and last evening's Gorakhpur blasts in a crowded shopping area which left five persons injured.
Security at the Ram Janmabhoomi and other important sites here has been further tightened.
