Doctors come to Trehan's rescue, move HC

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today admitted a writ petition seeking appointment of a doctors' committee to run the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre.

The writ by a group of doctors follows the managment's move suspending well known cardiologist Naresh Trehan as the Executive Director.

Admitting the application, Justice Gita Mittal put the hearing for tomorrow.

the plea gave a new turn to the fight between renowned cardiologist and Fortis Healthcare, which now manages Escorts.

The court had, on May 19, permitted Trehan to treat patients and have unrestricted entry into the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre run by Fortis Healthcare.

A group of 10 - 12 doctors from Escorts have also filed a petition in the High Court, saying that Dr Trehan should be allowed to continue as Executive Director of the hospital.
