Development projects worth Rs 81,000 crore for North coastal AP

Visakhapatnam, May 23 (UNI) North coastal Andhra Pradesh would get several infrastructure development projects to the tune of Rs 81,000 crore over the next ten years, Institute of Development and Planning Studies Chief Project Coordinator R V Rama Rao said today.

Talking to UNI here, Mr Rao said the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet had approved the infrastructure projects, including creation of a sea route along the coast, barge handling facilities at Dibbapalem, Revupolavaram, Uppada and Vodalarevu.

He said a coastal road would be developed amalgamating the existing stretches all along the coast.

More water supply and transmission systems would also come under the infrastructure development project.

He said roads would be laid to connect all major and minor ports. Besides a new international airport and ten helicopter stations would also be set up.
