Contract labourer dies in Koradi power plant
Nagpur, May 23 (UNI) A contract labourer was killed when he was caught in a conveyor belt and another injured while trying to save his colleague in Koradi Thermal Power Station (KTPS) of the public sector Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (Mahagenco) near here today.
The labourer, identified as Vijay Purushottam Devgirkar (42), was working near the conveyor belt this afternoon, when his clothes got entangled between the belt and the roller, official sources said.
Devgirkar was pulled into the belt and was crushed to death on the spot, the sources said.
Another labourer, whose name was not available immediately, was injured when he tried to save Devgirkar from getting caught in the conveyor belt, the sources added.
