Cong opposed to Aiyar's views on economic policy

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) The Congress today disagreed with the view expressed by Union Panchayat Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar about the Government's economic policies being pro-elite benefitting a particular class.

"The Congress does not agree with his views," Congress Spokesperson Jayanti Natrajan asserted while replying to a question." This Government has focussed on the problems of the common man. The focus remains." Describing it as completely incorrect view expressed by Mr Aiyar, she told reporters that the Congress view was that this Government had done a spectacular job in increasing the growth rate and addresing the concerns of the common man.

If there was any question on Mr Aiyar's views, it should be addressed to him, she added.

Mrs Natrajan said there could be no doubt that the focus of the party and the Government was the common man and recalled that the party had from this forum only urged the Government to address itself to the issues concerning the common man.
