Bharatstudent.com plans Rs 25 crore capex

Hyderabad, May 23 (UNI) After being ranked among the Top 50 sites in India within sixty days of its launch, Bharatstudent.com today said it would invest Rs 25 crore on its portal development in the coming months.

Bharatstudent.com, a web portal of Axill Europe Ltd, a UK-based 100% subsidiary of Northgate Technologies Ltd, said it had more than seven lakh registered users with 30 million page views and four million video views within two months of its launch.

Axill Europe Ltd Director Vishnu Vardhan Induri, who is also Business Head of Bharatstudent.com and Anil Singh of Northgate Technologies Ltd told newspersons here that it had already hired 400 students from India as interns to report campus happenings.

The interns, selected from 18,000 applicants from 2,800 institutions across 187 towns, would undergo orientation on May 26 before they were put on training for three months at Rs 4,000 a month. ''We plan to hire 2,000 interns during the year as we are planning to be the biggest media network for young Indians globally.

The company also plans to hire another 100 Indian students abroad at around USD 300-500 a month for reporting events around campus abroad.'' The portal has not only social utility by bringing together all the young Indians living across the globe, but will also focus on providing comprehensive solutions for any personal and professional issues of young Indians.
