Scuffle during budget session wounds 6

Lucknow, May 22 (UNI) A scuffle during the working committee's proceedings to pass the budget of Meerut Nagar Nigam wounded six people including four corporators today.

Police said a furore over an issue raised during the budget proceedings between Sushil Gurjar, husband of mayor Madhu Gurjar and the municipal corporators snowballed into a full-fledged clash, wounding six persons in civil lines area.

Protesting the incident, mob blocked the road near Ghantaghar at Delhi gate area, which was later opened after intervention of the higher officials.

The wounded were admitted to hospital.

Police are investigating the case.
