MP Sikh body demands Dera head's arrest
Bhopal, May 22: The Madhya Pradesh Evam Chhattisgarh Kendriya Shri Guru Singh Sabha has accused Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh of hurting Sikh religious sentiments and demanded his speedy arrest.
A proposal passed during the Sabha's emergency meeting yesterday at the local Nanaksar Gurdwara condemned Singh for donning dress similar to that of Guru Gobind Singh (1666-1708) the tenth guru of the Sikhs and distributing nectar. The Dera ought to be shut down, the proposal added.
Later, Sabha General Secretary Pritam Singh and others submitted a memorandum to Governor Balram Jakhar.
