Jhunka Bhakar stall owners launch indefinite fast
Mumbai, May 22 (UNI) ''Jhunka Bhakar'' owners have launched an indefinite fast here at the Azad Maidan, protesting against the State Government's decision to shut down these eateries.
The Maharashtra Government last week had decided to close down the Jhunka Bhakar stalls across the state as these eateries were ''not serving the purpose for which they had been started''.
The Shiv Sena-BJP Government in 1995 had alloted ''Jhunka Bhakar'' stalls to unemployed youth and widows who did not have any source of livelihood.
The ''Jhunka Bhakar'' stall owners, affiliated to the Shramik Sangh, launched an indefinite fast since yesterday.
The owners contended they have invested a lot of money in these centres and the Government's decision to close them down will cause them heavy losses.
