Four remanded to jail in Tata official murder case

Patna, May 22 (UNI) Chief judicial magistrate of Patna Sushama Sinha today remanded four members of a family to judicial custody in the sensational murder of a Tata executive and loot in the house of a city based tribunal judge on May 20.

Dismissed constable of Bihar police Maharana Pratap Singh,his wife and two daughters were produced before the court of CJM who sent them to judicial custody till June two.

According to the charges, Lucknow based Tata Motors executive Suresh Kumar Mahto was killed in the residence of Sadhna Shrivastava, a judicial member of Central Administrative Tribunal(CAT),under Kotwali police station area here on Sunday last when some ornaments and cash were also looted from her house.

Of the two alleged assailants, one Pawan Singh was arrested on the spot while the other Anil Singh however, escaped. However, Maharana Pratap Singh was arrested yesterday in the same case.

The horrifying murder of Mr Mahto after he was thrown out from the 8th floor of the multi-storied house by the assailants, has rocked the city creating a sense of insecurity among the general public.
