Deputy Registrar jailed for bribe
Bhopal, May 22 (UNI) A special court of Jabalpur has sentenced Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives Narayanlal Tandon to three years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 for taking bribe.
According to official sources, Tandon was caught redhanded by the Lokayukta officials on October 2, 2000 while taking bribe of Rs 10,000 from complainant Vinod Kumar Duggal of Jabalpur.
The Deputy Registrar had demanded bribe of total Rs 25,000 for the dissolution of a cooperative housing society in Jabalpur city.
The special court, in its ruling of May 16, convicted Tandon.
