MP: Deputy Registrar of Coop jailed for bribe
Bhopal, May 22: A special court of Jabalpur has sentenced Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives Narayanlal Tandon to three years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 for taking bribe.
According to official sources, Tandon was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta officials on October 2, 2000 while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from complainant Vinod Kumar Duggal of Jabalpur.
The Deputy Registrar had demanded bribe of total Rs 25,000 for the dissolution of a cooperative housing society in Jabalpur city.
The special court, in its ruling of May 16, convicted Tandon.
