Shimla, May 22 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) today termed the dharna by the BJP activists near Bishop Cotton School (BCS) late last night a ''political drama'' and accused it of trying to allure labourers.

Talking to mediapersons here, party spokesman Kuldeep Singh Rathore said a few BJP councillors, who are here to campaign for the party candidates, from the neighbouring states were trying to allure the labourers residing in that area.

He said on being exposed, the BJP was trying to involve a state government employee leader into the whole incident to gain political mileage.

Lamenting at the infighting and poor co-ordination within the BJP, he said it was also worthwhile to ponder as to why the party had to bring in people from outside the state to campaign for it.

The BJP was raking up all sorts of issues to remain in the news, he said.

The Congress spokesman apprehended that people brought in from outside the state could indulge in violence and asked the district administration to keep a vigil on them.

Mr Rathore said the party had no hidden agreement between the CPM and the Congress and that the parties were contesting elections on their own.

Expressing optimism that the party would win the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections, he said the chances of the Congress candidates have improved after a visit by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to almost every ward.

While the party has already expelled all people contesting against the official candidates, action would also be taken against those people who were campaigning against the party, he added.
