CM orders futher strengthening of security

Hyderabad, May 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today instructed top police officials to further strengthen vigil in the state as there were reports of possible terrorist attacks similar to that of bomb blast at Mecca Masjid.

After attending a security review meeting with top police officials, including Director General of Police (DGP) M A Basith here, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy said the government had not yet taken any decision on handing over the case to the CBI.

However, he said the government was not averse to doing so.

However, the police had beefed up security at all places of worship, railway and bus stations.

Meanwhile, an unclaimed tiffin box in the busy Koti area in the city created panic among the people.

The police, who arrived at the spot with the dog and bomb disposal squads, conducted a thorough search and found that the box contained only food items.
