Cardboard factory gutted in fire

Phagwara, May 22 (UNI) A cardboard factory was gutted when a fire broke out in the Shivpuri residential area in the city today.

Panic spread among the residents of the area as they saw smoke billowing out of the ventilators of the factory at around 0930 hrs in the morning.

They informed the factory owner Kasturi Lal, who stays nearby.

The police was immediately informed and two fire tenders were rushed to the factory. They took over three hours to extinguish the fire.

A large number of cardboard rolls and other machinery were totally destroyed in the fire.

The cause of fire could not be immediately ascertained.
