TN: Ancient idol recovered

Kancheepuram, May 22: An ancient idol of Nagalingeswarar was found in the River Vegavathy, near here, tonight.

Sources said soon as Tashildar Selvaraj got information that an idol was found at a depth of ten feet in the river, he rushed to the spot along with Kizhkathiryur VAO R Paneerselvam.

The idol was recovered and taken to the Tashildar's office.The Archaeology authorities had been been informed of the matter.
