ABB India bags Rs 289 Cr order for Delhi Metro Rail

Bangalore, May 22 (UNI) Power and automation technologies leader ABB India has bagged a RS.289 crore turnkey electrification package for the second phase of the Delhi Metro.

ABB India in a release said the second phae of the Metro line covered ten corridors across parts of New Delhi and surroundinga reas of Gurgaon and Noida.

The schope of the project included electrification of overhead lines, provision of auxiliary substations and a state-of-the art Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) solution interconnecting all the station en-route, linking the main receiving and traction substations to a central control cenre and a back-up control centre. The extensive project was expected to be completed by early 2010.

ABB Chairman and Managing Director Ravi Uppal said that "the Metro concept was certainly gaining momentum in a many of our cities to ease traffic congestion and provide an effective mass transportation solution.
