Widespread irregularities in centrally-funded schemes in MP:Pachauri
Betul, MP, May 21 (UNI) Alleging widespread irregularities in centrally-funded schemes in Madhya Pradesh, Union Personnel and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Pachauri today said an inquiry would be held in this regard.
Addressing a state-level Mahatma Gandhi Satyagrah centenary celebration programme, he said the Centre was not only doling out several crores of rupees to the state without discrimination but also increasing the amount every year.
However, the BJP-ruled state government had failed to provide the benefit to poor tribals and common people.
He alleged that several complaints regarding the National Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Prime Minister Sadak Yojna had been received. A high-level central inquiry would be conducted on the basis of these complaints.
The Congress leader alleged that law and order situation had deteriorated in the state. According to crime bureau report, atrocities against children had increased.
Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Hazarilal Raghuvanshi, Leader of Opposition Jamuna Devi, state Congress President Subhash Yadav, former Union Minister Aslam Sherkhan and several Congress leaders were present.
On the occasion, freedom fighters were presented with a shawland coconut.
