Three gunned down in mistaken identity in Bihar

Barh, May 21 (UNI) Three youths were gunned down by some villagers mistaking them as thieves at Shalimpur village in Patna district last night.

Police here today said the incident occurred when the three deceased, identified as Sujit Yadav, Amod Yadav and Raju, residents of Alipur village, were passing through Shalimpur to attend a marriage party at nearby Mugalpura.

Soon many villagers gathered on the spot and some of them in the subsequent melee opened fire on the three killing them on the spot.

The bodies were recovered by the police from a nearby field this morning.

Though a case had been lodged in the local police station, none had so far been arrested in connection with the murder.

The bodies had been sent for port mortem, police added.
