Suspended DGP seeks CBI probe into Tata official's murder

Patna, May 21 (UNI) In an unexpected turn of event, suspended Director General of Bihar police Narayan Mishra today sought a CBI inquiry into the murder of a senior Tata executive here yesterday.

Mr Mishra suggested a CBI probe after his name appeared in a section of the local media in the murder case.

The executive, Suresh Mahto, was flung to death from the eighth floor of a multi-storied residence of a CAT member (Judicial).

Mr Mishra, attaininig the age of superannuation in July next, was suspended in February last in connection with a case of acquiring property disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kundan Krishnan, however, denied any involvement of the suspended DGP in the incident.

Meanwhile, with today's arrest of a police constable in connection with the case following repeated raids, the total number of arrested went up to two as one of the alleged assailants was arrested from the backyard of the multi-storied building soon after the incident.
