Sugar prices up on better buying support

Mumbai, May 21 (UNI) Sugar prices went up on better buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchant's Association said today.

Sugar in small grade declined by Rs five per quintal on lack of demand while medium grades inched up by Rs 15 per quintal on lesser stock supply.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades edged up by Rs five each per quintal on good demand from retailers.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,308/1,350, Medium grade Rs 1,340/1,390, Ex-mill: Small grade Rs 1,295/1,315, Medium grade Rs 1,325/1,365.
