SC issues notices to Centre and former JVG chairman
New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) The Supreme Court today issued notices to the Centre and JVG Finance Corporation former Chairman Vijay Kumar Sharma on a petition seeking cancellation of his bail for misusing his liberty by floating another bogus firm under the name and style of M/S Vian Infrastructure Ltd to defraud the people.
Sharma is facing allegations of cheating people to the tune of Rs 600 crore, who invested money in his finance company which he later closed down and was declared an absconder by a Delhi court.
The petitioners -- Anjali Karnwal, Reena Karnwal, Pooja Karnwal and Rameshwar Dayal Karnwal -- who had invested about Rs 5 lakh in the firm -- sought the impleadment in the main case.
Sharma after his release on bail also floated a bogus firm under the name and style of PSG Developers and Engineers Ltd, a real estate company, and again issued advertisements in leading newspapers and on TV channels to attract unsuspecting buyers to book flats, while, in reality, the company did not own any land.
A Vacation Bench comprising Justices Arijit Pasayat and D K Jain issued the notices after hearing the counsel for the petitioner and directed that the application be heard along with the main petition.
