Satyam, Hawker Beechcraft signs contract

New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) Country's fourth largest software exporter Satyam Computer Services Ltd today said it has signed a multi-year service agreement with aircraft manufacturer Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC).

Under the agreement, Satyam will provide high-end design, computer-aided engineering (CAE), analysis, product lifecycle management and other services to Hawker, a statement said.

To manage the project, the company will establish an offshore development centre with about 40 professionals to work on HBC projects. The company plans to increase to 100 within a year.

The arrangement will enable HBC to fulfill orders more quickly, and within appropriated budgets, the statement added.

''Hawker Beechcraft is recognised as an extraordinary jet manufacturer, and we are happy to begin a mutually successful, long-term partnership,'' company's Director and Senior Vice President (Manufacturing, Automotive, and Aerospace and Defence Practice) Subu D Subramanian said .
