Nine nabbed for violence in Bhilwara

Bhilwara, May 21 (UNI) As many as nine people were rounded up in connection with three incidents of violence and arson allegedly involving youths of two different communities, in the old city here last night.

In the first incident, a youth was beaten up by a group of youths of different community in the Subhashnagar locality in retaliation to an FIR lodged by the former in connection with a road accident, a police spokesman said.

It resulted in another clash between youths to the two community late last night.

Unidentified persons set afire five trucks near the Idgah here during early hours today.

To prevent the situation from taking an ugly turn, the police rounded up nine youths for interrogation and additional force was summoned from Tonk, Chittorgarh and Ajmer for deployment in sensitive areas as a precautionary measure, Superintendent of Police Mohan Singh said.

The administration had also convened meeting of the peace committee and sought cooperation from the people for maintaining peace, Mr Singh said.

The siutation was totally under control, he added.
