Asom: Nine hurt in Bongaigaon blast
Guwahati, May 21: Nine persons including a minor boy were injured when an ULFA detonated explosion rocked Bongaigaon town in Western Asom today.
Police informed that a programmable timer device (PTD) which was planted by ULFA rebels on a bi-cycle parked near the traffic police point at Paglasthan locality in the town, exploded at around 0930 hours.
Two persons including the child were critically injured in the blast and admitted to a government hospital in Bongaigaon. Four of the injured were small-time Hindi-speaking traders of the town.
Police cordoned off the area after the blast and a combing operation has been launched.
