New premier and cabinet members sworn in

Taipei, May 21 (UNI) Chang Chun-hsiung was sworn in as premier by president Chen Shui-bian at the Presidential Office today morning.

Also sworn in were the members of Chang's Cabinet, which consists mainly of members of the previous Cabinet led by Su Tseng Chang reports Central News Agency of Taiwan (CNA).

Notable among the new faces are Vice Premier Chiou I-jen, Defense Minister Lee Tien-yu, Minister-without-Portfolio Liu Yu-shan, Executive Yuan Secretary-General Chen Ching-chun, Government Information Office (GIO) Minister Shieh Jhy-wey, Council of Labor Affairs Chairman Lu Tien-ling, Council for Cultural Affairs Chairwoman Wong Chin-chu, Council of Indigenous Peoples Chairman Yichiang Paluer and Atomic Energy Council Chairman Su Hsien-chang.

The post of the Environment Protection Administration minister has yet to be filled.
