MP seeks investment in agri sector
Bhopal, May 21 (UNI) To explore the vast potential for investment in agriculture sector in Madhya Pradesh, more than 300 investors and agriculture experts, including 40 from other countries, will attend the two-day 'Agri-Business Meet' scheduled here from May 25.
Madhya Pradesh's Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development department Principal Secretary Pravesh Sharma told reporters here today that the ABM was aimed at holding discussion on providing better price and market to the agro-products.
He said the state's produces like 'Sharbati' wheat, potatoes and garlic required proper marketing. There are also vast opportunities to set up food processing industries.
This meet, being organised in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), will also be attended by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, ministers and senior officials.
''Few MoUs were likely to be signed during the meet'', Mr Sharma added.
