Man shot dead by policeman

Jaunpur, May 21 (UNI) A police head constable today shot dead a man, following a dispute over a boundary wall in Kerakat area here.

The incident took place at Khathara village, where a dispute between head constable Deenanath Yadav, posted at Maduahdi station in Varanasi, and his neighbour Jai Charan Yadav snowballed.

Aided by his four accomplices, Deenanath fired at Charan and his son Satish, police said.

While Satish died on the way to hospital, Charan is reported to be crtitical.

Although Deenanath fled the scene, two of his aides were arrested.

Irked over the incident, locals set ablaze Deenanath's jeep.

A manhunt had been launched to nab him.
