Jammu to observe 'bandh' tomorrow

Jammu, May 21 (UNI) Continuing with the protests, entire region of Jammu will observe a 'bandh' tomorrow, a call for which has been given by various Sikh organisations against the alleged 'imitation' of their 10th Guru Gobind Singh by Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

All educational and business institutions have been appealed to remain closed for the day, sources said.

The 'bandh' call has also been supported by many political parties, including the BJP, besides local public transporters.

Hundreds of Sikhs, raising slogans against the Dera chief took out a procession to Satwari Chowk and staged demonstration.

They also burnt his effigy and demanded action against him, sources said.

The Sikhs were agitating against the reports that Sant Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh had showed up dressed like the 10th Sikh Guru at a public function at Dera Salabatpura in Bathinda (Punjab).
