IUML Condemnds Hyderabad blasts
Belgaum May 21 (UNI) The Indian Union Muslim League today condemned the blasts in Mecca Masjid are Hyderabad and sought a CBI Inquiry into the incident.
Briefing newspersons after the Political Advisory Committee meeting, IUML President G M Banatwala said the party also condemned the incidents of extra-judicial killings through fake encounters and custodial deaths, particularly of innocent Muslims who were being branded as terrorists.
He said the committee had decided to request all Muslims to unite under the banner of IUML flag.
The committee had asserted that the lack of political weight and vigilance with respect to minority rights and social justice had led to the continuous deterioration in the educational and economic status of the community. The committee also felt that the Muslims had suffered from neglect, partisan attitude and flawed electoral perceptions of political parties.
The committee appreciated the positive attitude of the Union government towards Sachar Committee report and demanded early measures to implement it with exclusive reservations for Muslims proportionate to their population.
It also reviewed the communal situation in the country and demanded strict action to curb anti-minority propaganda including circulation of CDs with inflammable material. The Modi Government in Gujarat had no moral right to rule after its own admission of the fake encounter, said one of the resolution.
It urged the Central and the UP Governments to intervene effectively for the restoration of the minority character of the Aligarh Muslim University and the minority status of UP Muslims.
