Heatwave continues down South, rains lesh northeast

Pune, May 21 (UNI) Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts while severe heat wave conditions continued at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heat wave conditions also prevailed at isolated places in Tamil Nadu.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and in remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and of Tamil Nadu and were above normal in coastal Orissa, Himachal Pradesh, coastal Saurashtra, Konkan and Goa and coastal Karnataka and in some parts of Telangana. They were appreciably below normal in Bihar, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, west Rajasthan and in some parts of west Madhya Pradesh and were below normal in Gujarat region and in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, west Uttar Pradesh, madhya Maharashtra and of Marathwada. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim and at a few places in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and Kerala.
