Haryana to improve infrastructure in colleges

Chandigarh, May 21 (UNI) The Haryana Government has earmarked Rs 14.70 crore for improving infrastructure and maintenance of various government colleges in the state during the current financial year.

Haryana Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana said the government had spent Rs 26 crore on the maintenance and construction works in different governement colleges during the past two years.

The Minister said the government had made a budgetary provision of Rs 115 crore for promotion of higher education in the state during the year 2007-08 as against Rs 64.70 crore during the year 2006-07.

He said the budget allocation for higher education had been raised as the state government was committed to provide quality education to its students.
